“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support,” the statement continues.

“We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”
Variety contacted Bruce Willis' representative for more information, but his team has no other statement to offer at this time other than what his family has said below.
Willis' acting career began in the early 1980s with uncredited roles in films such as Sidney Lumet's "The Verdict," but it took off later that decade with his starring role opposite Cybill Shepherd in the ABC series "Moonlighting" and his portrayal of John McClane in the 1988 action film "Die Hard," which launched Willis' first major film franchise. Willis' films have grossed over $5 billion worldwide over the course of his four-decade acting career. He has five Golden Globe nominations (winning one for "Moonlighting") and three Emmy nominations (winning one for "Moonlighting" and another for his "Friends" guest role).
